ICU Security Inc. is proud to announce the success of its specialty product called, the "Upstream 1". This digital video directional analyzer, using breakthrough real-time image processing techniques, isolates a single direction of movement vector from multiple moving targets within a scene, and in response, generates an alarm to the user's criteria.
The Upstream-1 is ideally suited for access control in airport control lane applications. With FAA approval, system integrators specializing in Airport Security have included the Upstream-1 in their recent projects across the United States and Canada (e.g. Saint Louis, MO, Sacramento, CA, Midland, TX, and Calgary, Canada).
"It calculates motion on a pixel-by-pixel basis, and uses the "brute-force" approach". Says Mr. Bernie Butler, VP of engineering at ICU Security, "Instead of looking at objects, however, it looks at gaps between the edges of moving objects. If a moving edge is detected, it is compared with the previous frame".
System integrators claim that the superiority of this device lies in its ability to distinguish a single object moving "upstream" from all the other movements in the scene, even if there are hundreds of moving objects present!
ICU is currently manufacture this product for Ross & Baruzzini, one of the largest engineering firms in the United States specializing in systems integration for airport security.
The Upstream-1 applies "Dynamic Looped Pipelining", a proprietary imaging technology by ICU Security Inc., which provides for high-resolution image processing. Each pixel is processed in as little as 12 nanoseconds.
The Upstream-1 employs the very latest in technology: It features multiple targets tracking of up to 3,840 targets! This highly advanced range of tracking greatly diminishes the nuisance of false alarms.
